Studio Arhoj Spring Bowl Harbor Seal

NIEUW
Product description

This Spring Bowl from Studio Arhoj is a large bowl perfect for a pasta, a well-filled soup or ramen. The bowl comes from the EDO series and is made of speckled stoneware. A wide and heavy foot keeps the bowl upright. The Spring Bowl is hand turned and has a beautiful unique glaze.

Each bowl is handmade in their Copenhagen studio and glazed in 50 variations of pastels, earth tones and bright colours. No two are exactly alike.

Each bowl is unique

The nice thing is that every bowl is unique, even if it looks the same at first glance, because every bowl is glazed by hand and glaze is not always 100% lead. This makes these bowls so unique. Of every Spring Bowl in the webshop there is (usually) 1 in stock. As a result, we invite you to make a nice combination, tone-on-tone or a combination with a considerable contrast. Extra fun to make your own selection. The bowls are suitable for both hot and cold dishes. You can also just place it somewhere nice and keep your small accessories in it.

The bowl is made of speckled stoneware with a unique layer of glaze. It is about 17.5 cm x 8.5 cm. Advice is hand wash, but also dishwasher (do not put ceramics against each other (not even against another material), this can cause scratches and damage) and microwave suitable.

Important: Allow the boiling water (for ramen, for example) to stand for a moment before you pour it into the ceramic bowl. Pouring boiling water (still bubbling) directly into a cool bowl can crack the enamel.

Also keep in mind that the bowl has no ear and the bowl heats up from the hot contents. Do not fill the bowl to the brim, but slightly under it so that you can hold it there. You can also hold it by the foot.

100% Handmade

The bowl is hand-turned in Copenhagen in their own studio by their own potters. If you ever visit this beautiful city, be sure to drop by their shop and studio in one. You can see the potters at work. The finishing, glazing, is also done in their same studio.

Important: The photos are an indication of the bowl that you are going to receive. Because each bowl is unique, there may be a slight difference compared to the photo. Although the bowl always has the same colors, but in a green-blue cup, one bowl is slightly more green and the other blue, which has to do with the 'running' of the enamel. The atmosphere, style and color combination will be right, but there will be a difference, and one bowl can have a runner, the other cannot. Colors are also always difficult to display, this usually differs per medium (laptop, mobile) and can be slightly different. This (the uniqueness and color reproduction) is a given and therefore see the photos as indicative, to which no (return) rights are granted. You can always come by to see the bowls in real life and make your choice.

NOTE: In the shop you will find a selection of bowls, Studio Arhoj makes this selection when sending. Ordering a specific bowl or a second copy is therefore difficult and not possible.

Ceramic care

Important: Allow the boiling water (for tea, for example) to stand for a moment before you pour it into a ceramic bowl. Pouring boiling water (still bubbling) directly into a cool bowl can crack the enamel.

Non-glazed porcelain surfaces, such as the matte white areas on the Sip, slurp, chug cups and melting mugs, are sometimes sensitive to light stains, as opposed to glazed porcelain. Regular washing can help remove and prevent stains. Arhoj recommends that you wash these items by hand, but the cups can be placed in the dishwasher to remove stubborn stains. You can also put the cup in a bowl of warm water with a little washing-up liquid. Very stubborn stains can sometimes be removed with diluted chlorine and lime remover (first try in an invisible spot (underside, or this does not give any stains).

Gray lines on the glaze in the cups are usually caused by your cutlery (eg spoon). These scratches won't hurt, but if you want to get rid of them, they can be removed lightly or completely (with baking powder, miracle sponge, Cream or Tartar (Toko). Grease stains on matt glaze can be removed with baking powder and water.
