Monika Petersen
The Danish Monika Petersen studied illustrations at the St Martins College of Arts and Design in England. After her education, she worked in London for a number of years before returning to Copenhagen, where she has her own studio. Her work has been shown in magazines such as the Elle, Cover and Rum. Moreover, her illustrations have been used on wallpaper, cups, pillows and recently also on a large billboard campaign for BIC.
Linocuts
Nowadays Monika mainly works with a large hand press, with which she prints her linocuts in a limited edition. She uses beautiful, high-quality Fabriano paper. Through the old and traditional craftsmanship of linocut technique, she expresses her creativity in a modern way. A technique that requires a lot of patience and precision.
Prints
The Monika collection consists of a series of lino prints, with shapes and structures from nature, such as flowers and leaves. The prints have beautiful, almost sculptural shapes, whose refined patterns, such as from a leaf or a flower, are clearly visible. Her prints fit well in a modern interior because of the golden color and the beautiful details.
