MOEBE is a Danish design studio based in Copenhagen. The Moebe studio consists of furniture maker Anders Thams and two architects Nicholas Oldroyd and Martin D Christensen. All designs they release under the Moebe brand come from their hand and are truly an example of current Scandinavian design. Their most popular product is the Moebe oak frame.

MOEBE Simplicity in design.

At MOEBE they like to keep things simple, under the guise of 'the world is complicated enough already'. Their designs are very pure, simple and reduced to the essence. As a result, the designs have been reduced to the simplest form. The designers create intuitive and honest products. You could perhaps also describe it as 'what you see is what you get'. The products have a very clear shape, clear parts and are therefore very easy to use. The designs only have a few parts that you can easily assemble.

MOEBE Frame lijst

The Moebe collection consists of home accessories and furniture made of oak and metal. Their most famous design is the Frame, the transparent frame in different sizes and materials. The frame is the example of a design that has been reduced to its essence. A frame, an inner piece and something to hang it with. The rubber band with which you can hang the frame also holds the frame parts together, so that no screw or nail is needed. A list that is very popular because of its many options. Not only can you frame a poster, but also individual parts, such as flower petals. A Moebe list invites you to change the content every now and then.

Danish Design Collection

The candlestick is also an example of simplicity in design. By bending 1 wire they have created a candlestick that is stable and focuses on the candle. They then applied metal bending in several designs. The table mirror also has a beautifully curved base and the wall hook is also made of 1 wire. In addition to home accessories, MOEBE has expanded their collection to furniture. One of the pieces of furniture is the 'Shelving system'. An open cupboard consisting of metal posts, shelves and plugs with which you attach the shelves to the posts. A cabinet system that is expandable and flexible in design. We are curious to see what beautiful design MOEBE will continue to surprise us with in the coming years.

The Philosophy of MOEBE:

Moebe:

“We're surrounded by a lot of stuff, aren't we?

It's something we think about a lot at Moebe. Maybe we really need less: less noise, less mess, less waste. Space to breathe and to appreciate the small everyday moments that give meaning to our lives. We have been applying this philosophy to design since 2014. Our approach starts with rethinking the essence of a product. What is the core function and how can we remove the unnecessary? How can we do more with less? It means putting our effort into materials, details and construction so that every design element has a function and a purpose. Nothing was left unthought of and nothing was added without meaning. Designed to function and built to last."

Made to last – Moebe believes in what they do and the quality of their products. That's why they give a 5-year warranty on all their designs. This warranty covers any functional, material or manufacturing defect of any product you purchase from them for private use.

Right to Repair - It should always be easier and cheaper to repair than to replace. The modular design of their products makes them easy to repair if they break. Moebe offers spare parts for all their designs, so only the part that is broken needs to be replaced rather than the product as a whole.

Produced with care - It is absolutely crucial that both the people who make Moebe's products and the environment are treated correctly. That's why Moebe keeps their producers close. More than 40% of their production takes place in Denmark and 95% of their total production takes place within the EU.

Responsibly packaged - The packaging they use is just as important to them as their designs. That is why all products arrive in cardboard packaging, without lamination. This protects them from the rigors of shipping and can be easily recycled when the job is done.

Optimized for transport - All Moebe products are constructed from individual parts, allowing them to be packaged in their most reduced form. This helps reduce transport volume to an absolute minimum and reduces their footprint.

Certifications - All wood is European, and Moebe is proud to be an FSC® and PEFC® certified brand, while at the same time working with the EU Ecolabel® to support their commitment to sustainable sourcing and production.
