Marimekko Pieni Unikko cushion cover 50x50 cm pink dark cherry red

A beautiful colorful cushion cover from Marimekko with the Pieni Unikko pattern in beautiful pink red tones with a protruding edge all around. The cushion cover with poppy print is made of 100% unbleached cotton and has a zipper to close on the side.

The cushions are made from the full width of the fabric, so the same cushion made from the same fabric can still differ slightly, because the pattern jumps slightly. This makes each cushion unique. Unbleached cotton fabric has a natural, vibrant color and surface, where small dark dots from the cotton plant can appear. This also differs per cushion cover.

The cushion cover is supplied without inner cushion, but can be ordered directly when necessary.

Cushions on the couch

The Unikko cushion cover is very nice to combine with other cushions on the couch, with other Marimekko patterns or beautiful plain cushion covers, if you like something quieter.

The cushion cover is washable at 60 ° C, follow the washing instructions given by Marimekko. You can find them on the label on the cushion cover.

Marimekko series Unikko

The Unikko design was created in 1964 by Maija Isola and has since become an international icon of marimekko. Marimekko's founder, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to capture the true essence of real flowers in print. That is why floral prints were previously excluded from Marimekko's collections.

Maija Isola therefore designed Unikko as an abstraction of a flower instead of a photorealistic representation. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko's design identity.

2024 is the year that Marimekko celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Unikko design. Special editions, sometimes with a link in terms of colors to the 1960s, but also new designs are released that year.

Inner cushion

The cushion covers from Marimekko are supplied without inner cushion. You may still have a 50x50cm inner cushion in the house, if this is not the case, then you can order one immediately when you purchase the cover. The Marimekko white inner cushion is firm yet soft cushion that fits in every 50x50 cushion cover. The outside of the cushion is white and made of 100% cotton and is filled with polyester. The pillow can be washed at 40 ° C, use 1/3 less detergent than normal (see washing instructions on the pillow).
