This matt grey glazed cone is a Cone from Kähler design and is very decorative for the home Use it as a decoration on your windowsill, cupboard or table. Combine it with other Cones or in combination with a suitable color vase or candlestick. Make combinations that suit you and your interior.

Cone

The Cone that you receive may differ slightly from the picture, because not every glaze is exactly the same. Every Cone is unique. The color number is written on the bottom of the cone, just like it used to be (see story below). The Cones are available in various colors and in 2 sizes. This Cone has a height of approximately 11 cm.

Origin and history of the Cone

In the past, the designers at Kähler design not only developed ceramics, but also glaze types. Cone-shaped ceramic shapes, called glaze cones, were used for this. With these cones, they were able to test how the enamel drained off and behaved during baking. That way they could see what the effect would be on a certain object. The glaze cones each had their own code that referred to a certain color and type of glaze. When new types of glaze arose, they were often named after the designer and they were given a decorative place in the studio.

From 1901 the first female designers made their appearance. In the following period, they created unique ceramic creations and created glazes using the glaze cones. When Kähler took over and renovated an old workshop in Næstved in 2013, a small exclusive collection of old enamel cones was found. These original specimens are the inspiration for this current collection of Cone cones.
