Marimekko Unikko towel 30x50cm dark blue 93% cotton / 7% linen

This terry guest towel from Marimekko is made of a mix of cotton and linen and has the dark blue colored Unikko design. The colors on one side are reversed on the other side (flower dark blue on one side and cotton color on the other side). There is a loop halfway along the long side on which you can hang the towel.

Unikko

The Unikko (poppy) design was born in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, announced that Marimekko would never print a floral pattern. Maija Isola refused to follow Armi's orders and - in protest - created a whole series of beautiful floral prints. One of them was Unikko, which has become a story of creativity, strength, courage and confidence in itself.
