Studio Arhoj Stash Jar Lily Of The Valley
The Stash Jar by Studio Arhoj is part of the Tokyo series. The pot is a multifunctional hand-cast and glazed porcelain pot. It is a great storage for your wooden spoons and spatulas in the kitchen, for your brushes in your painting room, but it is also beautiful as a vase for a bouquet of flowers.
Each Stash Jar is unique
The nice thing is that every Stash jar is unique, even if it looks the same at first glance, because each vase is glazed by hand and glaze is not always 100% guided. This is what makes these vases so unique. There is (usually) 1 of every Stash jar in the web store in stock.
The Stash jar is made of white porcelain (that's what they call the material, it's not really white) with a unique layer of glaze. It is approximately 17 x 9.5 cm and the volume is approximately 800 ml. Advice is hand wash, but is also ceramic (don't put ceramics against each other, can not arise against another material).
Handmade
The Stash pot is hand-cast in Portugal. Why in Portugal, because the material used for the jar comes from there and there is great experience in casting this material. So instead of having the material shipped, have the Stash jars poured there and later shipped to the Arhoj Studio. The finishing, such as the glazing, is done in their own studio in Copenhagen.
Important: The photos are an indication of the Stash Jar you will receive. Because each Stash jar is unique, there may be a slight difference from the photo. The Stash jar always has the same colours, but in a green-blue jar, the green is slightly more present in one jar and the blue in the other, which has to do with the 'walking' of the glaze. The atmosphere, style and color combination will be right, but there will be a difference, one jar can also have a runner, the other cannot. Colors can also always be displayed, this is always difficult per medium (laptop something else, mobile) and can be slightly different. This (the uniqueness and color representation) is a given and therefore see the photos as indicative, no (return) rights are treated. You can always come by to see the Stash jars in real life and to make your choice.
NOTE: You will find a selection of Stash jars in the store, this selection will be made by Studio Arhoj upon shipment. Ordering a specific Stash jar or a second copy is therefore difficult and impossible.
Ceramic care
Important: Do not pour boiling hot water into the Stash pot, direct boiling water (still bubbling) can damage the pot.
Unglazed porcelain surfaces, such as the matte white areas on the Sip, Slurp, chug cups and Stash jars, are sometimes prone to light staining, doubting to glazed porcelain. Regular washing can remove and prevent. Arhoj recommends washing these items by hand, but the Stash jar can be placed in the dishwasher to remove future stains. You can also place the Stash jar in a bowl of warm water with a little washing up liquid. Highly removable stains can sometimes be removed with chlorine and limescale remover (try on an invisible underside first, to make sure it doesn't leave strange stains).
Gray lines on the glaze in the Stash jar are usually shaped items (eg spoons/spatulas). These scratches can't hurt, but if you want to remove them, they can be easily or completely removed (with baking powder, miracle sponge, Cream of Tartar (Toko).
