Monika Petersen Lino Print Gold Gingko White A3

Product description

Beautiful golden print of a Gingko leaf on white Fabriano paper designed and made by Monika Petersen. This beautiful fan-shaped leaf comes from the Chinese Gingko tree and has a beautiful shape that is further accentuated by the shiny gold paint. This beautiful print is numbered and signed by the designer Monika Petersen

Printing Press

Making a linocut is an intensive process. Monika (illustrator) first makes a sketch on the linoleum, then she cuts small detailed cuts in the linoleum with a gouge. As soon as the lino has been treated completely satisfactorily, the paint is applied to the lino with a rubber roller. With the help of a large printing press, the print is printed manually on special paper. Operating a printing press is hard work but Monika does it himself. It is a combination of craftsmanship and the structure to the moment that the first poster comes from under the printing press, that fascinates her so much. It is not possible to predict exactly in advance how a poster will come from under the press and that makes the work so exciting. With precise precision, she designs a flower or leaf that looks almost three-dimensional.

Signed

The posters are printed in a limited edition (200 pieces) and are all numbered and signed by Monika. The technique used requires time because each poster is printed individually and by hand. The intensity of the color and print varies from print to print and that makes every poster so unique.
