Gemini - Architectmade

Inspired by the "beauty of possibilities," the Gemini candle holder by Peter Karpf is a perfect blend of form and function. It is precisely designed to allow the candles to be placed as close as possible without toppling over. The candle holder is made of solid stainless steel and can hold two handmade candles with an optimal burning time of 4 hours. Whether standing alone or arranged in endless combinations, the only limit is creativity. Enjoy the clean lines and simple purity, highlighted by the contrast between the candle wax and the polished stainless steel. You can order the Gemini candles directly as well.

Material - Solid stainless steel
Dimensions - W11 H11.5 cm

Design: Peter Karpf

Karpf’s designs can be found in numerous museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

Throughout his career, Peter Karpf became renowned for his work with furniture made from a single piece of wood, giving them a unique sculptural appearance. His work is characterized by simplicity and personal expression, and for Karpf, functionality is just as important as the product's design.

As an apprentice to the renowned furniture maker Fritz Hansen, he turned to architecture in 1961 at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts. This robust education in both product and spatial design laid the foundation for his belief that design is a process of eliminating experiments.

Each of his projects embraces both beauty and usability, with innovative applications of materials. His furniture, bent from a single piece of wood, monolithic molded plywood chairs, and lighting fixtures have become modern Danish classics. This collection, along with his architecture, led to his receiving the Bruno Mathsson Prize in 2002, the most prestigious design award in Scandinavia.
